Here's the YBR that I made for my nephew's wedding, last month. The wind nearly ripped the quilt from the boys' hands while I was trying to get a picture of it. Thought it was a funny picture that shows how windy it can be here, on a relatively still day. This quilt had a really nice feel to it- the reproduction fabrics felt almost like linen- very heavy and thick. I just backed it in extra-wide muslin and quilted it with one of Keryn Emmersons' pantos (roses.) It was such a busy quilt, it would have been impossible to see what I was doing, otherwise. Michael and his wife loved it and even took it with them on their honeymoon.
I love Aunt Eva's quilt - of course it is blue and yellow! And Michael and Rosemary's quilt turned out beautiful. Has Rosemary ever taken up quilting? Did you ever ask her if she got that box of stuff from me last summer?
ReplyDeleteWhat has everyone got at your house? Our new preacher visited here last week and 3/4 of them got the stomach virus while they were here. They brought it with them - the son was puking when they arrived.
Miss you!
Love - Sarah
What a beautiful wedding quilt and so glad to hear how much they value it!
ReplyDeleteWe live on the Indiana Prairie and deal with the wind on a daily basis. It is so hard for people in town to realize what the wind is really like.
Oh the Wedding quilt is wonderful! I love the windy day look in the picture! That is too fun!
ReplyDeleteI very much like the wedding quilt - and the way it's displayed. Makes me think of a patchwork sail on a boat - I'll bet it took some holding down.
ReplyDeleteI think that is a fabulous picture!! It almost looks as if the quilt has life! Which is good, ofcourse, because we want them to be loved and used to death!
ReplyDeleteThe pattern is fun and the colors are so bright and cheery!
The windy day is so fun to see... I can see the wind in the quilts. I can imagine how the people are holding them . Great quilts great pictures
ReplyDeleteLove your wedding gift quilt! How cheery and fun. The lucky couple is sure to enjoy it for years. Who knows...it may be passed down to your grand- or great-grandchildren some day....
