A deal...

is a deal and this was a great deal. I found these 4 blocks at a thrift shop when Sarah was here. They had cut a quilt into segments because the sashing and binding was all loved-up. The blocks are all hand-pieced and hand-quilted. I cut them apart and put them in this old window frame from our house. A think it'll make a nice wallhanging over my whirlpool. The price of this entire project? $5!

  2. Not only are you avoiding packing by sewing - you are avoiding it by posting multiple times! I love your window project and your momma's secret project! Finished up the Auburn baby quilt today. Just have to make a label before tomorrow afternoon. i hate Sunday afternoon showers - it interupts my nap time!

Good luck with the packing! Are some of the boys big enough to do it for themselves?

    Love you!

  3. Oooh, those quilted goodies are wonderful. I love the windowframe mount for the quilt blocks and the antique top -- what fun and bright colors. Your mom's jacket is amazing -- and you're right, just about anything does look good in batiks!

  4. ;-) Tub? Or washer? (Whirlpool.) And...hope you put in a replacement window. Around here...if we would leave our windows wide open...or TAKE THEM OUT...barn swallow would sure find their way in to make their muddy little homes. ;-)

It's darling...no matter where it will be hanging! What a great re-purpose.

  6. I wouldn't have been able to resist....even if random comments gave me the first hints. :) It is really, really pretty, Nina. And won't it look nice with just anything! Love you so-o-o-o-o-o-o!

I heard those dresden plate templates are easy to use. Have you ever made any? I'm tempted.
    God bless :)

  9. I love your window frame and what you have done with it. I might have to use your idea and come up with something similar, if you don't mind.

  11. What a great find! Looks great. I'd be doing all those things rather than packing for ten, also. Sewing and dreaming about sewing are way more fun!
