Well, yeah...I know I was supposed to use dark, folkart colors... and aside from the fact that I don't own anything like that, batiks are just a whole lot of fun. Nobody could take it too seriously.
The girls in their Easter frocks...that Grandmother made them. Don't they look just adorable? Hello Kitty is big around here.
April showers...
April showers...bring May flowers. Right? It is pouring buckets out there, so the flowers should be very happy- as soon as it warms up a bit. Boo made this flower for me and we wrapped it in contact paper so it will catch the light. Very cheery. She has made one for almost every window.
Bread making...
Bread making...
has been a whole lot of fun, lately. "When it rains, it pours." I have been sprouting wheat berries- adding them to wholewheat bread. It makes a heavy, moist sort of bread with lots of interesting texture. Yum yum!! The sprouts are very tasty alone, also. And good for you, to boot. Can't beat that.

Look at those cute girls! I never used to get why everyone was so enamored with batiks but I'm starting to like them. Quiltpixie made a beautious block she showed on her blog that I fell in love with. Your Springy folk art is so pretty. Man alive, I'm so sick of winter! Come on Spring!!!
I used to make pinafores like that for my eldest when she was much younger - so versatile with different tops underneath

I love cooking with wheat. My fave is a wheat berry dessert, kind of like an egg custard with sultanas - yum. I love the batiks, unexpected and fun. I miss the days of making dresses for my girls.
Love the flower. It reminds me of one Kathy made for me when she was in elementary school. It was made by gluing yarn to the paper. I believe I still have it around somewhere. I am presently growing sprouts...haven't used any in bread yet though. I will have to try that. Kathy says I should use the sprouts in a smoothie but I think I need milk to do that and I can't have milk while on this antibiotic for the cat bite.
Yum! Have you told me about wheat berries yet?! I'm quite interested. ;-)
