Inspiration...

Now doesn't that picture just make you want to go and make a quilt? It doesn't? Are you sure you're in the right place? I don't think I know a single quilter out there who wouldn't find inspiration in this humble little tidal pool. Man! What color! The blues and purples, the greens and yellows, the rust and greys, the browns and blacks...And look how proportionate it is! The brights and darks just bouncing off of each other...the sour of that green mixed with the sweet of that blue... And it was alive, guys, so alive! OK, it was under a couple inches of cold water, but still... the maker of that "quilt"... WOW! That's an original!

2:14 a.m.?? Another one of those nights? Stacy got up at around 5:30 this morning - and then couldn't locate his clean jeans in one of the 5 laundry baskets sitting around our room. Why not? So I was up hunting for them at 5:45 and now can't go back to sleep. UGH! I see a nap in my future!

GORGEOUS!!! I fully agree. Yes...the Maker is a fabulous Artiste, isn't He! And you to see His artistry: A gift!

Lotsa love....

Oh yeah -- that is one mighty fine quilt. It really makes me want to dig into my stash of batiks and start playing too -- just to capture the moment in fabric. Yumm. Happy new year to you and your family -- may it bring you much joy, love and laughter.

You said it!

And the middle of the night is when creative juices run wildest...at least in my genes.

Right on! I love to see "quilts" out in the world, too. This picture actually looks amazingly like some of the Australian fabric I have had the pleasure of playing with this week. It is Aboriginal-designed fabrics and has lots of little dots like that and plant shaped things and fantastic colors. What fun!
