Feelin' Groovy...

Just finished this polyester quilt from the 70's. Still need to put the binding on. This quilt got me all nostalgic- so many fun designs and bright! Wow are some of them bright. It will make a wonderful snuggle up quilt with a higher loft batting in it. Just seemed to go together. There are 7 more of similiar quilts to do for a friend. I just meandered it- what would be the point of trying to compete with those bright fabrics? But how fun is that? I think it's a great thing that he salvaged them from the rubbish bin. Truly. I just adore a good utility quilt. Got one? Why don't you post it so we can all see?

Ah. Sing with me now: Groovin...on a Sunday afternoon.... I love the simple squares and quilting, matched with zany fabrics. Are all seven the same?

I can't think of any true utility quilts around here...but we definitely have quilts that are used and loved and snuggled and maybe even a tad abused. And the more they're used, the warmer they keep us!

Love and hugs and grooviness to you, Nines!

Hey... is that one of my dad's? Cool! Do you remember the one my grandma made for me to take to college? All polyester... mauve, and pale turquoise, and weird blue... made from lots and lots of old pant suits. I still have it. It's all picked; but it's probably the warmest quilt I've ever owned!!
