Pillow Talk...
Just a quick snap shot at some pillows I threw together, yesterday. The "Talk Sweet" is my favorite because my husband is ever saying that to the children. I don't think it's just the way that it has to be- siblings bickering. They can be encouraged to be friendly and peacable and, tada- they are. Well, it might take a bit more effort than I make it sound like, but I love to see brothers and sisters acting like they love and like each other. Now that's heavenly. The "E" on my Bless Thee pillow got a bit swallowed up by the sashing- silly me, didn't notice until too late. Oh, well. I repurposed some old bed pillows that nobody liked- too hard or too flat. I actually broke out the ole serger and sewed up the inside pillows with it. I made the pillow covers removable- not that my darling children would ever get them dirty...
Been hot here and the air conditioners in the big house are all humming. I have one in my quilting room, but the I only run it when I have company. I don't mind the heat as long as there's a breeze- I have a stand fan out there and it suits me fine. When I went to take this picture, I grabbed my camera from the living room and didn't realize that the climate change was fairly extreme! Fogged up the lens, right away. Had to keep wiping the steam off it! High humidity. My ice tea glass keeps sweating a huge puddle on the cutting table. oh well, tis summer. And the livin' is easy.

Great idea!! We could all talk to each other a little sweeter and show our Love to God a little more. IMHO

using "everyday" phrases on throw pillos is a wonderful idea -- really fun in a pillow fight I'd think to be smashed by "talk sweet" :-) hehe

Cute! The only letters I have ever made are the ones on Abby's pink quilt. Totally frustrated me! Looking forward to seeing you!

Great pillows! I think siblings will always have rivalry...my kids fight like cats in a bag most of the time, and no amount of discussion, requests, cajoling or bribes will make them behave for more than a few minutes at a time. My sister fought with me until she moved out...then she couldn't figure out why I never called. hmmmm....
Warm & dry out here. Iced tea sounds great!

Wonderful pillows! And I love the "talk sweet" phrase, don't think I've ever heard it put quite that way. And fostering good relations among your children is absolutely worth it. One of my happiest moments was when I overheard someone ask my then grade school age daughter who her best friend was, and she replied, "You mean, besides my sister?"

Cute pillows, and nice sayings. I only had 2 kids, and always thought they got along really well, although my daughter says they knew to keep their bickering to when I wasn't around. I still think they got along well, and they still do. To this day, if you mess with one, you mess with both. My son may be henpecked (from a child by his sister), but he is loved.

LOVE the pillows!!! Perhaps Bill's wisdom will rub off onto my children...whom I'd love even more if they'd just plain talk! That's what I get for telling them to leave each other alone when they were little and fighting. Being the "only" youngest didn't teach me a whole lot about siblings, did it!

Love you bushels!
