My love affair...
with spray starch! Dontcha just love that stuff? My Aunt Eva turned me onto it when I was starting my first year of college and I've been hooked ever since. It's great for your regular ironing, but wow! what it can do for your quilting! It firms up the fabric so it doesn't stretch when you're working with it. Gives a nice crisp edge for sewing. Crumb blocks are just lovely with a little spritz of starch- smooth and flat. Sewing curves is a cinch once you spray the fabric first. I love the fresh linen scented starch, best, that and the lavender. OK, the lemon is nice, too. Haven't tried it? It's cheap and I think you'll like it!

I like the linen, too. Never thought of using it for quilting -- thanks for the tip! XOXO

Love starching fabrics, but I buy the concentrate and mix my own in a spray bottle. I don't get flakes and it's even more economical *s*

I love starch too! It is wonderful for your applique pieces too! I hadn't thought about mixing my own as Libby mentioned. I do tend to get the flakes, as my trigger finger gets a little too heavy sometimes! lol

I love to use it in my quilting - especially when I am making quilts from templates (marti michelle system)

I've never considered spray starch! Thanks for the recommendation. I'm obviously so out of the loop. LOL :) I'll pick some up tonight.

I HATE to iron. My kids often outgrew their clothing waiting for it to be ironed and then I found this lady who loved to iron and I would take the clothes that needed to be ironed to her. DD got to wear more frilly clothing after that. I think this lady must have used spray starch because my car smelled so wonderful on the way home after picking up the ironing for which she charged....are you ready?....$2.00
