New front door...

Nothing fancy, but Sandy wanted to see it. They had a fancier one, but I didn't think that it would match the more humble aspects of the house. Notice I have no doorknob- something we keep forgetting to pick up at the hardware store! The electric is run and the insulation is in, progress, progress. Movin' forward.

The little baby quilt is finished. I just threw the blocks in with some of my vinage fabs. I think it turned out sweet and very old fashioned. Working on another one that Sandy embroidered with her fancy machine. I spent the day with her, yesterday. She loaded me down with new projects- her old ones that she was tired of and I am thrilled to have! There is a fall colored 9-patch, the baby blocks, a stack of dresden plates, and some redwork snowmen! What a windfall! I have company coming next week so I need to try and set those aside and concentrate on the housecleaning. But then again, what's the point of cleaning too much in advance? The kids will just mess it up... see how easy that little justification was? sigh. I'm hopeless.

Oooh! So that's the dining addition?! Speaking of door knobs...wish we would have gotten the ones that you have to push down on to open...instead of turn, like the old-fashioned way. My hands -- and I'm sure yours too -- are always full...so I have to set everything down to turn the knob and open the door. Perhaps you have greeters though? I nevah do! ;-)

Love the little quilt!

Love you heaps, Nines!

Looks like a good addition, the door I mean...and think how nice it will be with a knob too. :)

Is this the new dining room? How nice! I love the window in your door. I think more humble is always better than showy and fancy! The little baby quilt is adorable!

I like your justification on house cleaning, I use the same one! lol

I totally agree with your justification on not cleaning. I only have three kids here, but the littlest is the tornado of the bunch, and an afternoon left to his own devices will result in total chaos. There's no point cleaning until the day before (or the day of). CUTE little baby quilt!

well, your "company" can't wait to see the new door in person! As far as the housecleaning goes...sew instead. You know I only notice the sweet faces surrounding me and not whether something is dusted or not.
